Good Tidings - Video

Merry Merry to one and all!

Good Tidings

So many parents have told me that the first Christmas with a new baby is like nothing you will ever experience. Of course, they were correct. Michael participated in Christmas Eve with the Grandpa's side of the family, Christmas morning with Grandpa & Grandpa Rowan, and Christmas night with Grandma's side of the family. It was non stop presents, food, laughter, and conversation.

Michael got to be part of the Christmas Pickle tradition with his great Aunt Kathy. He searched all the house to find that darn pickle! (With a little help from mom and dad.)

Michael got so many new toys, books and games. Santa knew what a good boy Michael had been this year. From sleeping through the night at 3 months, virtually never getting sick, and making his parents two of the happiest people in the world, there was no way Santa would leave him coal!

Babies do silly things

Cherrios

We are now embarking on facilitating our little one to begin to eat on his own. Milk soaked cheerios are first on the menu. I guess we will keep trying....??

Enjoy - I always do.

Gobble! Gobble!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. When else do you have an excuse to gorge yourself and not feel guilty, well maybe during pregnancy. But pregnancy doesn't happen every year, well I guess if you are Michele Dugger...ANYWAY.... The point is, that this is a great holiday, with great food, great people and of course a time where we can reflect on what we are thankful for. This year I am truly thankful for my little buster. Our family attended three thanksgivings this year, one with the McDowell/Rowan group, one with the Rowan/Baran/Klien group, and one with the Gorrie clan. Amongst the wine, food, lively conversation, and football it was apparent that everyone was feeling grateful for what they have.

Michael was able to share this holiday with his entire family, he even had a seat at the table!

Pumpkin Patch

The title doesn't lie! Michael went to two different pumpkin patches this month.
One was just with his parents. He took a liking to the pumpkin that was bigger than he was. And wasnt too sure about the donkeys at the patch, actually we all were wondering what they were doing there.

The second was with his cousin Jane,Uncle Aaron, and Aunt Lauren. We saw a variety of people at the patch, everyone loves pumpkins and apple doughnuts! It was time well spent as a family.

2nd Quarter Report

At four months he was laughing and recognizing peoples faces. Honestly, that was awesome enough to last a life time!

But wait it only gets better!

At five months he was chomping away rice cereal and gearing up for veggies! How cool is it to be there for him when he tastes new foods for the first time.

At six months he was rolling over and scootching his way to freedom! An astonishing accomplishment ( if I do say so myself)
We no longer can put him down and walk away. All eyes must be on Michael from this point forward.

Finally - What a joy it has been to share in these moments with him these past three months. Each day is a new adventure for both him and us. He surely keeps us on our toes! I can only imagine what it will be like when he is truly mobile. But that's for another blog....

Peas - Porridge - Hot.

Well folks we are finally here, Michael has begun the transition to PEOPLE food.

It's been so great experiencing all these new things with him. Each week we try a new veggie, once we have 5 veggies under our belt we can move to fruits. How great is this kid, I think I'll thank him now for all the fun I am having. Enjoy.

Friday Night lights, baby style

Michael has taken to a toy truck given to him by his Great Aunt Kathy. It's so cool to see him show interest in things, what a joy each day must be for him. We spent friday evening playing together as the rain poured down.

Hugo didn't feel like joining in the festivities, as you can see he is hanging out under the crib. Don't worry Hugo we will always love you!

The Best Medicine

Laughter folks, we have laughter.

Snap! Crackle! Pop!

This week Michael had his 4 month doc appointment, with a second round of vaccinations under his belt...err he had them in the leg ( ha ha).....the doc said we could begin introducing rice cereal. I was really excited to begin this new endeavor. I did NOT realize how many choices one has when buying rice cereal ( even at the Jewel) None the less, I choose one and was off to make the delicious mush that would be my sons first "real" meal.

Just when you get into a routine, you are allowed to introduce something new. I really thought that would drive me nuts. Actually I feel the complete opposite. How cool is it to be a part of my busters firsts!

A video of what ensued:

Michael also tried out his jumperoo for the first time. He seems to enjoy it, mom and Dad think its a keeper.

Ahoy! Matee!

First Dip

Blue Grass & Banjos

Michael went on his first vacation this summer, the annual Gorrie Kentucky trip. He was a peach in the car on the 7 hour drive, he made his mama real proud!
It was wonderful week of introductions ( he met his Aunt Kat)

Of course being only three and half months old he had a number of firsts. His first mosquito bite, his first swim in the pool, his first smell of the lake breeze, and his first boat ride.
