And then there were two

What an eventful week it has been! We were welcomed by Penelope Ann Gorrie on October 1st at 655 pm. I went in for my regular doctors appointment on Monday and left with orders to hit the hospital to have a baby! Not how I planned it, but honestly who is that lucky anyway?!

It was a quick delivery, I was admitted at 1230pm and had Penny at 655pm. So thank you daughter for being easy on me! The hospital staff were so kind and supportive to us. I HUGE thank you to Papa, Grandma and Aunt Lauren for spending time with Michael while we were meeting and connecting with our dear daughter Penny.

We had so many well wishes this week from visits in the hospital, to coming home to cards from family and friends. It couldn't have been a better experience. We hit the park with Michael and did some shopping. We also have been helping Michael get to know his baby sister. He is adjusting and I'm sure that over the next couple of weeks he will become accustomed to having another family member.

Tony and I are now trying to navigate thorough the abyss of having another child, while its wonderful it certainly does have it moments. I have included some pictures throughout the first 6 days of Penny's life. She is now going to join Michael on this journey so stay tuned for blogs, pix and video of her growth and development. We have a little girl and boy, how grateful I am for each day that I get to spend with them. Life has been very generous to us, we are so mindful of that each and every day.

Thanks for coming to visit Jill!

No pix please....

Hi, I'm one day old.

No, she didn't!

Last moments with one

Tony and I set out to spend some more time with Michael before his sister arrived. While having another child will be a wonderful thing for our family, we know how it will impact Michael. We wanted to make sure we were able to do some fun things before his sister made her entrance! We were fortunate enough to have gorgeous weather the weekend before his sister was born. So we headed up to Stades farm in McHenry to check out pumpkins, animals, and other fall related activities.

Dad was a trooper considering mom was way too pregnant to do much with Michael. He went down the slide several times, Stades has changed their policy, no more tickets and unlimited rides for everyone! That's great news for the kids, not so great for the parents. We ended the day with dinner and stories. Who knew that come Monday morning we would be off to the hospital to welcome our newest!

Tony and I were glad we had this last day to spend just with Michael, I hope he did too.

Down the big slide with Dad!

Took a ride on Shade of Autumn Express!

Rode a pony for the first time!

Such fun! Hi mom look at me!

Slide again, please!

And again
