Memorial Day Marching!

The weather couldn't have been more beautiful this memorial day weekend! This year Michael and Penny participated in marching in the Arlington Heights Memorial day parade for the Montessori school.
We put balloons on our school float and put together candy baskets for the kids to pass out to the parade goers. Michael did a fantastic job waving, walking, and handing out candy. He met up with his friend Charlie which helped pass the time, it was a long walk!

I was happy to have him be a part of something like this, its important for him to know that participation in school and community is a good thing and can be fun!

Music at Montessori

Today Michael learned many new songs, and heard music on a banjo.  He also learned about the composer of the month.  The kids made a train to railroad music and a sail boat to a sailing song that they sang. Its a rough life at Montessori!

Spring has sprung!

Well its finally Spring..err at least that's what the calendar says! The tulips are blooming and the days are getting longer and longer. Just like the flowers the kids are growing too, Penny is speaking in two to three word sentences!!  After having experienced Michael you should know that is something we are certainly not used to in this house!! Penny has been an absolute joy to be around and listen too.

The kids have ventured to the park by our house, of course spent time out side at Grandma and Papas house. Michael was super excited to show us the butterflies that he was caring for at Montessori. They watched them from caterpillars to butterflies. The kids released them this week, and I have to tell you I haven't heard Michael talk this much about something since Star Wars!

I also got to spend some time with Michael at Montessori for Moms night, it was absolutely fabulous! Michael was a great host, he offered me water and showed me around the classroom. He also pointed out where the bathrooms were as well. We did some work, spoke with his friends, and then ended the evening with a few songs. What a great experience he has each day. I can't wait to see how Penny does at Montessori, it will be so cool see the differences between them!

Moms night!

Let them go!
