School days are here 2015

The year began with Michael missing the first week of Kindergarten due to being sick. UGHHH!!!
I know, back to school germs, gotta love them! The good part is it gave Penny a few days to get acclimated to the school without her brother, and she did fabulous!

"I love you brother"

I didn't even ask them to pose here, LOVE IT
Penny gravitated as most of the young ones do to practical life.
She was a master pourer ( spelling?) and button threader on day one! I'm hearing so much more about her day, its amazing the difference in the interaction between girls and boys. She sings the songs, has made some new friends, but still misses her mom and Miss Carolyn from time to time. ( who wouldn't right!! ha!)

The kids were great and let the teachers take a pictures of them throughout the day to share with the moms and dads.

2015/2016 room 2 class

They had Music and Spanish the first week as well, The year is coming together with talk of Johnny Appleseed and working on treating other with kindness and respect. Each time a child is seen doing something helpful for another (without prompting) they are praised for their efforts. Both Michael and Penny have already been seen doing this - so proud of my helpful babies! Maria had it right, follow the child and they will do the rest. Ill be practicing that fro the rest of my life.....

Summers final moments

2015 was a pretty full summer for the kids. With all the trips we took, activities we participated in and family we visited, it went in a flash!

Michael spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa where he caught  his first fish!!

Penny got some great one on one time with Miss Carolyn before their time came to and end.

Michael finally road his bike on his own, With a ton of practice and patience ( mostly from his dad)
He nailed it! I didn't think I would be so excited for something so small, but for him it was the next step toward his own independence!! Click on the link to view the video

And now the school year begins for our kindergartner and our preschooler, What great things are to come for them!
