Wrapping it all up

The countdown has begun to Michael's final year of Montessori and Penny's first year attending. I'm so grateful of my continued involvement in this school, I honestly do not want this time to end. It's an inspiring place to spend time each day. The kindness and grace that these children display to their teachers, parents and each other warms my heart. Rest assured, they will all carry this into their adult lives.

For all the decision that Tony and I will have regarding our children,  I know that this decision was a good one, I will forever have that! I'm excited to see how Penny shines even brighter ( is that possible?) next year. She will have the class to herself and will begin to develop her own leadership qualities.

So we will say good bye for the summer, but will we back in the fall to begin again. As the newly elected new board president next year, I hope that I will be able to continue to carry the Montessori message of the school in the upcoming year.

Ok, off soapbox....on to what the heck has been going on!

Folk music has been playing in background and the children are learning about animals in Spanish class.

The children discussed how and what to reuse and recycle in order to reduce waste. The children used their home made "binoculars" and looked for many fun objects along the way.  Everyone had a great time exploring the neighborhood around the school.

Let the scavenger Hunt begin!

The children had fun making and playing with flubber. They even brought it home to continue the fun......

They planted and watch their sunflowers grow, we will plant them in the yard next.

The chrysalis began to open.....they currently have four butterflies!  How exciting!!

Kindergartners will be going to LegoLand Discovery Center on Friday May 6th. Its a pretty big deal for them. :)
Michael, Kanoa, Margaret, Colin and Miles!

Moms night rocked! Such a great way to spend an evening with the kiddos, they are so excited to show me how hard they work, and it shows, I have two of the brightest ones in the bunch and its true...no bias here.

Eggs, a birthday & a vacay! March Madness 2016

The month of March was filled with adventure at NSMS. The children have been checking the weather for lion or lamb days.  As of today we are tied. The kids have mixed colors and made rainbows. The children painted eggs and made bunnies! They have read about the traditions of St. Patrick's Day. The children celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by making green butter and eating it with rainbow bread.

A bunch of bunnies.
At home we had our own decorating party. The kids did a PHENOMENAL job decorating the eggs. They needed no help from mom and dad, we just sat back and enjoyed.

Always have to be silly

My beautiful, smart, fabulous, independent daughter, how we love her.

The children had a great Easter egg hunt in the snow; over 1000 eggs were found by the kids. It was a cold day but the kids had a blast.

Happy

Sad

oh happy again....

This month also we also now have a 6 year old. Michael had a great birthday celebration with his friends and family. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us. He had many presents the most important of which was losing his first tooth! We saw the dentist and doctor this month, everyone is healthy and growing.

hmmm.....how hard do i have to blow to get all those candles out

On your mark

Get set

GO!

Happy birthday buddy, we love you more than  words!

Michael also had his last (wipe tears here) birthday celebration at Montessori - around the sun and back again. He chose only boys friends to be his candles this year and his teachers allowed him to pick a book to take home.

Lastly, MANY MANY thanks to my Mom, Dad, Carolyn and Mike for watching our family while Tony and I celebrated 10 years of marriage in Mexico! It was so wonderful to spend time with each in such a beautiful place. How much I adore this man and what he has given me, I couldn't ask for a better partner and friend in life.  I'm so excited to see how the next chapter turns out! We will be doing this again VERY soon :)

This pic sums up  our time here, love and laughter!
