Moms night 2015

Another year at NSMS and another moms night. This is really a great way for the parent to see what is happening in the classroom. We began the evening at practical life, building a sea scape out of Kinetic sand. Michael also chose to wash the windows and the classroom mirror. ( A boy after my own heart!)

This year Michael engaged with a number of kids in the classroom. He worked on the Pink Tower and Brown Stair with his friend Neal. We spent the majority of the evening on the carpet area completing skip counting work. Michael is very interested in numbers, he has completed this work several times which is great considering the greater portion of March was at the 100 board. ( I know I know, the child will move to something else when HE is ready, not when MOM is ready) I can hear Maria Montessori chanting that in my head as I type....

After work we sat on line and ran through the line routine. It incorporates a number of songs, the days of the week, the weather ect. A great way to set the expectation for that day. Lastly, the children put together a special song and made a chocolate rose for the moms.

Kudos to you NSMS for another spectacular evening!

Skip counting by 3s 4s and 5s!

Working together.
