Well the moment Michael had been waiting for all year finally came. His fifth birthday!
We began our celebration in Bloomington with Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Gramma Gorrie.
We had pizza and cake and of course presents. Michael has become very interested in everyone's age and spent most of the weekend asking people how old they were, and if that meant they were older than his dad, who is 39.
How have five years gone by!! REMEMBER MPG when we visited Aunt Lauren and little baby Jane when they lived in Chicago! Probably not, but I do! What great memories we had there! You will forever be my buster!! SMOOCH!!!
Montessori also has a birthday celebration that they do for each child. They count the months of the year, light a candle and sing a special song for each child on their birthday. Michael got a crown and a book from all of his room two friends.
We had a great birthday party for Michael, all of his local family and friends were represented. So many kids, was so much fun!! Despite having two inches of water in the basement the night before - YIKES - we were able to pull of a pretty successful birthday party for him.He was a great host, involved all the kids, shared his toys and laughed A LOT. It was just how a five year should spend his special day.
