Rocky Mountain National Park

Our third day we ventured to Rocky Mountain National Park. Now, I have been to Colorado a few times but something about this trip changed me. I was so taken back by the sheer beauty of this state, at times it was so breathtaking that I did not know how to respond accept to sit back and be mindful of the experience I was having.

We began our journey with a drive through Estes Park ( this was before the national park) It was AMAZING! I couldn't believe the rock formations, rivers and winding roads. There are also a number of homes along this route to the park. I was in awe that this was how people lived! No boundaries just a step out of your door and step into the river. It was simply humbling.

We started out in Sprauge lake with a half mile trail walk around. There were fly fisherman ( and women) rocks, tress and of course the fantastic skyline mountain view. We stopped for a short snack at the lake and then made our way around through the rock waterfalls, tress and rivers.

I reluctantly traveled up trail ridge road at the park. Thankfully Tony drove the car, we winded around the roads and gasped at the views. We made it to a parking/viewing spot called "Many Parks" it was at an elevation of 9600 feet. We got out and felt the Rocky mountain high! What an AMAZING view we had. I have never felt so small but so big at one time.

We saw a few Elk on our first drive through the park
